Augustus "Gus" Brantly passed away on Friday, August 18, 1978 at Johnson City Memorial Hospital. He had been suffering from pancreatitis. Born September 10, 1937, he was the son of Ted Terrance Brantly and Ressie Branham Brantly. He was an auditor for the Cato stores in Tennessee and North Carolina. He is survived by his wife, Patsy Ann Williams Brantly, a daughter Katharine Lee Brantly and a son Philip Terrance Brantly. He is also survived by his mother Ressie Branham Moody Brantly, who is full blooded Monacan Indian. Funeral service were held at Morris Baker Funeral Home on August 20, 1978. |
